Yuan-Peng Lin

Director-General Yuan-peng Lin, a graduate of the National Taiwan University's Graduate Institute of Civil Engineering, has served in Taiwan's water resources sector for over 30 years. He has held key positions including Deputy Director-General and Chief Engineer of the Water Resources Agency.

Since becoming Director-General in March 2025, he has focused on three core goals: New Water Governance, New Water Supply, and Reduced Water Leakage. He is also a strong advocate for using AI to build a more resilient and sustainable water management system for Taiwan.

Chien-Hsin Lai

Dr. Chien-Hsin Lai, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, has over 30 years of public service and engineering leadership. Starting at the Water Resources Agency (WRA) in 1992, he served as Director-General from 2016 to 2024. He holds a Ph.D. in Soil and Water Conservation from National Chung Hsing University, and completed programs at UC Berkeley and Harvard Kennedy School. A licensed hydraulic and soil conservation engineer, Dr. Lai has led major national initiatives, including Taiwan’s net-zero strategy, renewable energy development, and critical drought responses in 2021 and 2023. His reforms to the Water Act and promotion of nature-based solutions highlight his commitment to resilience and sustainability. Recognized with the Presidential Innovation Award and Civil Service Outstanding Contribution Award, Dr. Lai also elevated the WRA to global leadership in carbon reduction, securing PAS 2080 certification. His vision and dedication continue to shape Taiwan’s sustainable future.

Kalanithy Vairavamoorthy

Dr. Kalanithy Vairavamoorthy is a globally recognized expert in water resource management, specializing in urban water systems. With a strong engineering background and extensive international experience, he has worked closely with major organizations such as the World Bank, UN-Habitat, UNESCO, and the EU, leading numerous urban water projects worldwide.

Prior to leading the, he was Deputy Director General at the International Water Management Institute and founding Dean of the Patel College of Global Sustainability at the University of South Florida. He has held academic positions at the University of Birmingham, UNESCO-IHE, and currently serves as an adjunct professor at IIT Madras.

Meng-Ru Shen

Professor Meng-Ru Shen is currently the President of National Cheng Kung University and an Attending Physician at National Cheng Kung University Hospital.

He also serves as Chairman of the Taiwan Institute of Sports Science (TISS), Director of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Taiwan, and Board Member of the Institute for Biotechnology and Medicine Industry (IBMI).

Professor Shen has long focused on research in oncology and drug development. In recent years, he has been committed to advancing innovative applications of artificial intelligence in medicine, actively nurturing talent across generations and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, creating an inclusive and mutually supportive environment, and fulfilling the university’s commitment to social responsibility.

Ken Lin
Sr. Sales Director, Commercial Sales, AMD Taiwan

Ken Lin

Ken Lin is Sr. Sales Director of Commercial business in Taiwan. He is responsible for developing and managing AMD Server and commercial business for both CPU and GPU in Taiwan region, including business development, growing revenue and getting new design-wins by working with Taiwan ODMs/OEM partners to promote AMD solutions in the region as well as global market. It includes DataCenter, Server and edge computing in OEMs/ODMs as well as Taiwan domestic commercial market including Server, NB, DT, WS and embedded solutions for Taiwan customers. Ken also acted as one of AMD Taiwan site leaders in 2018 July for 2 years. As Taiwan site leader, he worked with site leader team to lead and manage AMD Taiwan site cross functions and teams to drive future business growth as well all the site activities in AMD Taiwan.

Ken has joined AMD for over 21 years since 2004. He managed Greater China embedded business for 10 years to led both embedded sales and FAE teams to grow embedded business from ODMs and OEMs by working with industrial distributors in Greater China. Ken expanded his role to led both Server and embedded biz in Taiwan since 2015 which is 2 years before AMD launched EPYC. Ken rebuilt AMD Server business team in Taiwan since 2015 and has gained significant progress via strategic partnership with TWN ODMs. With AI/GPU Server booming, Ken is now focus on Server and commercial business development with OEM/ODM partners to keep expanding AMD’s growth in Taiwan as well as WW market via elevating ODMs’ add-on value to grow Server business together.

Ken has been working in the IT industry for over 36 years and started his Greater China business development and management experience since 2001. He is good at strategic business development, team development, building long term customer relationship, delivering result to achieve goals via strong execution and leadership. Previously, Ken served his sales, marketing and management roles in various US companies including Cypress, 3Com, Iomega, Imation and 3M with rich global and Taiwan business development experience.

Ken has a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering in National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. Ken and his family reside in Taipei, Taiwan.
